Laura Dewitt
About Me:
Laura DeWitt is a Master of Social Work student at Wichita State University, where she also earned her bachelor’s degree. Her practicum experience at the Substance Abuse Center of Kansas gave her the opportunity to walk alongside individuals in inpatient, outpatient, and incarceration settings, supporting people through some of the most difficult chapters of their lives. She has worked with individuals and groups navigating trauma, substance use, and the unique challenges of incarceration, experiences that have deepened her commitment to meeting each client with compassion and respect.
Laura believes that true healing begins in a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where clients feel fully seen and heard. She is passionate about helping people recognize their inherent strengths, embrace who they are, and move forward with courage toward their personal goals. Guided by a person-centered approach, she integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients build resilience, foster balance, and create meaningful change in their lives.
