About Me:

Kayla Thompson is a student intern pursuing her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Fort Hays State University. Having obtained her bachelor’s degree from Newman University in 2021, Kayla honed her skills during her practicum at Saint Francis Ministries within Migration Ministries and Kinship Placement and Reintegration. Her professional journey includes hands-on experience in community mental health, focusing on children and adolescents, grappling with mood and personality disorders, anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

Dedicated to facilitating personal growth and fostering resilience, Kayla is deeply committed to empowering individuals to discover their inner strengths and capabilities for holistic healing and personal development. Her therapeutic approach is centered on guiding individuals towards recognizing their inherent resilience and reclaiming control over their lives and personal aspirations. With a core belief in maintaining a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment, Kayla aims to support individuals in achieving their unique goals and navigating various life challenges, be it in their daily routines, educational pursuits, or in the aftermath of traumatic experiences. Kayla employs an integrative therapeutic framework by integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to support people in feeling better.
