A Bit About Me
When human beings experience severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. It can be easy for emotions to feel out of control. My passion is bringing healing to people who have been through stressful and traumatic experiences. I help my clients, who include adults and adolescents, to find peace and acceptance while also making necessary changes to improve quality of life.
No single approach is the right fit for everyone, and so I have trained in a range of modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Exposure Therapy.
My primary specialty is the treatment of maternal mental health issues including postpartum depression and anxiety, pregnancy and infant loss, and birth trauma. I am the President and founder of The Village Perinatal Support Network in Wichita, KS, a nonprofit serving the needs of women and families struggling with perinatal mental health challenges.
I also specialize in treating those who struggle with dysregulated emotions. These difficulties may cause feelings of depression and anxiety, relationship conflict, suicidal thoughts, or self harm. Our team of DBT therapists at The Monarch Center have many years of expertise in treating this population.
My educational background includes a BA in psychology and Master’s Degree in Social Welfare. I am a two-time graduate of the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!). I have been practicing in the field of clinical social work for over ten years. I conduct professional trainings for perinatal mental health. I am available for professional consultation to mental health providers seeking advanced training in these fields.
